Gyroscopes were first used for marine navigation, but with the development of science and technology, they have also been widely used in aviation and aerospace industries. The gyroscope sensor can not only be used as an indicating instrument, but more importantly, it can be used as a sensitive element in the automatic control system, that is as a signal sensor. As needed, the gyroscope can provide accurate azimuth, level, position, speed and acceleration signals so that the driver or an automatic navigator can control aircraft, ships, space shuttles and other aircraft to fly along a certain route. In the guidance of vehicles such as carriers or space exploration rockets, these signals are directly used to complete the guidance of the vehicle. These signals are directly used to complete the attitude control and orbit control of the vehicle.

Compared with traditional gyroscopes that utilize the principle of conservation of angular momentum, MEMS gyroscopes use a different working principle. A traditional gyroscope is a constantly rotating object, and the direction of its axis does not change with the rotation of the bracket that carries it.

Therefore, the Mems gyroscope uses the Coriolis force to achieve device miniaturization based on the characteristics of traditional gyroscopes. Mems gyroscope is the most common application of Coriolis force. Mems gyroscope uses Coriolis force (the tangential force experienced by rotating physics during radial motion). The rotating gyroscope can perform linear motion of various shapes. Produces a reaction, and the movement can be measured and controlled by recording the Coriolis force received by the gyro component.

MEMS gyroscopes (micromechanical gyroscopes) that are now widely used can be used in aerospace, aviation, navigation, weapons, automobiles, biomedicine, environmental monitoring and other fields. And mems gyroscopes have obvious advantages over traditional gyroscopes:

1.    Small size and light weight. It is suitable for occasions with strict requirements on installation space and weight, such as missile load measurement, etc.

2.    Low cost.

3.    High reliability. There are no rotating parts inside, and it is an all-solid-state device, resistant to large overload impacts and has a long working life.

4.    Low power consumption.

5.    Large range. Suitable for occasions with high speed and large g value.

6.    Easy to digitize and intelligentize. Digital output, temperature compensation, zero correction, etc.
