Application of INS in vehicle system
From the definition of inertial navigation, inertial navigation is a technology to obtain instantaneous velocity and position data of aircraft by measuring the acceleration of aircraft and automatically performing integral operation. The equipment of inertial navigation system is installed in the carrier body. It does not rely on external information or radiate energy to the outside, so it is not easy to be disturbed. It is an autonomous navigation system.
Inertial measurement device, including accelerometer and gyroscope, is also called inertial navigation unit. The former measures the acceleration of an object, and the latter is also called angular velocity sensor, which measures angular velocity. Using the parameters of these devices, it seems very simple to calculate and navigate. However, due to the high sampling frequency (dozens or even hundreds of times per second), the cumulative error is easy to expand, so it is still very difficult to navigate for a long time.
